I. Cut strap

The leather is punched or cut into strap shape and glued. The open edges are then filled and sealed with edge paint. Many different strap shapes are possible.
II. Remborde / Full-bugg strap

For the rembordé or full-turn strap the upper leather is folded around a breathable, natural cotton fleece and glued. The folded upper leather is then bonded fibre-deep to the lining leather so that bacteria cannot penetrate. Finally all layers are stitched together. Like a »Goodyear welted« shoe, the RIOS1931 full-turn strap is softer and at the same time more stable and durable.
III. Remborde / Full-bugg strap “Art Manuel”

For the high-end version »Art Manuel«, starting from the RIOS1931 full-turn strap made like a »Goodyear welted« shoe, an additional leather layer is applied. The strap is then embossed, the edges are heat-polished, sanded, filled and painted five times with edge paint. The loops are hand-sewn. Many »Art Manuel« models also have a genuine hand stitch (saddle stitch).
